Valentine’s Day Malware

Posted 14 Feb 2010 | No Comments | 1,364 views

The Valentine’s Day malware is making its rounds. Disguised as ecards or greetings, the malware hopes to entice unsuspecting recipients into clicking on the links which are sent in email. Once clicked, the recipient gets a whole bunch of surprises which their anti-virus software will love to chew on.

We’re also seeing a rise in malware emails disguised as Chinese New Year greetings; however, we’re not seeing much with a Presidents Day theme. Using our national holiday as cover would probably be too obvious since we do not normally send out Happy President’s Day ecards.
